This is a trailer with more than 6.000 shots made with Nikon D3s, Nikon D700 just for one sequence, Nikon D800E and with D4s but just some sequnces of the final version, and of course with a ShooTools Camera Slider One 150 and some Manfrotto/Gitzo tripods,  it will take more than one year to be complete.

I mainly used a wide lens like Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8, and for some sequnces I used Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 and Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 VRI, and like always in my landscape-shots I used many Lee Filters with the SW150 Kit for Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8. I didn’t know what a timelapse was, I’m a photographer since 2008 but it was only in the summer of 2013, which looking BBC LIFE I discovered this technique and I decided to make one on my own about Bolsena Lake.

Why about Bolsena? Because Bolsena is my home town and during my studying years in Rome, where I graduated in Aerospace Engineering, I realized how much I missed my little city and my amazing lake. Every photo is taken here all around Bolsena Lake, of course the most shots are taken from Bolsena shores but I have been also in Montefiascone, Marta and Gradoli, and I’ll visit much more places in the following months to complete this work. I always choose remote and natural places because I want to give a wild and unspoiled vision of this ancient lake, so I always keep away from cities and even at night I go in inaccessible areas to prevent contamination of disturbing elements produced by man.

I also discovered that the timelapse helps to look at reality in a completely different way, you can appreciate much more all the mechanisms which dominates nature and even a seemingly mundane day become a true spectacle of nature if collected into a timelapse. With my stormchasing activity throughout the area and with an eye always turned to the wonders of astronomy, I point to include in the final video other night scenes and fascinating storms over the lake, also availing of two other instruments such as the Star Adventurer by SkyWatcher and the ShooTools Auto Pan 80, a great upgrade for my slider.
